Hello, Mike,
Don't fret about your coolant level. All cars have their individual "comfort spot" where coolant level is concerned and your car is only trying to tell you hers.

I had to learn that the hard way when I was driving a Chrysler 440 for a few years, and wanting to take Real Good Care of it, topped off coolant every time I started her up in the morning. But Just As Soon as she stopped after a long run, she rather noisily and spectacularly burped green blood all over the parking lot, frightening more than a few customers at some Posh restaurant or other into thinking the car was about to explode, causing alarm more than once and causing me no end of embarrassment, Just as I might be ordering a nice Gewurztraminer to accompany dinner. But she never ran too warm!

After a rather Petulant display like that, however, she was happy as a clam until the Next time I filled the coolant to the Factory Recommended level.

I *Finally* figured out (no one has ever accused me of being quick learner) just leave the coolant level where THE CAR wanted it and ignore the FILL TO HERE marks.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
