XK120 oil pressure
Hi all, new member here.
I have a 1952 XK120 and its in Malta at present. It is undergoing a complete rebuild and the engine has been built almost as new. The original 3.4 had all sorts of serious problems to resolve so I rebuilt it with a 3.8 block, new 3.8 pistons, all bearings reground and various other new parts. It has twin 1.75 SU CD carbs. When running, the oil pressure from a new wet pressure gauge is showing about 100psi and it only drops down to about 80psi at tickover. Is the pressure regulator in the oil filter adjustable at all or can I play around with the spring to get a more reasonable 40/50 psi. Anyone know please.
Thanks
Ray.
