XK8 Lady Driver
Hello All
I am in the UK and love my Jag XK8 coupe, (even though it costs a fortune in the UK just to turn the ignition!),but unsure about some things so hope I can call on you experienced drivers to offer some help!...I am the second owner from new
Firstly - My car was new in October 1999 but has Sat Nav and the cruise control button beside the traction control button on consule (aswell as steering wheel), plus a telephone piece that comes out under the sun visor,yet I have been told that Sat Nav wasn't introduced until Yr2000. All documentation is proper and it has been suggested that it was perhaps originally a demo model in showroom with extras - Does this mean when I come to sell it it may be worth more??? (SORRY if this sounds daft but I am a novice re this)
Secondly - Whydoes the Engine coolant level always seem to be in the red and showing low. I have had mechanics check this out and 'supposedly' sorted out but it's still on and gets really smelly, even when I haven't had a long journey and 'burnt the rubber'?

Welcome to the forum, Jag Gal. My wife is also a Jag Gal and sometimes lets me drive her XKR.
I'm not qualified to answer your tech questions but there are afew Jaguar Technicians here and I'm certain they will provide you with informative answers.

If your car was built in Oct 1999, it is technically a 2000 Model year vehicle. So Nav is definitly a possibility.
If the light keeps coming on for low coolant, and it smells, likely situation is a leak somewhere. I would stop driving it around until they fix it correctly. If you keep driving it overheating and leaking, you can damage engine and that will be very expensive to cure.
