XKR lower door insulation torn at window

XKR lower door insulation torn at window

I want to know what causes this. The driver’s door lower insulation at the top corner of the window is torn. I glued it, but it rubs and just comes apart. I would like to replace the entire strip but am concerned it will just happen again. Any suggestions?

Note tear by mirror frame to window
