New Member with 2008 XF - Some Japanese Import Related Questions
Hi All
I've recently just bought a lovely new black 2008 XF SV8 from a dealer that has imported it from Japan. I had the car looked over by Archibalds in Auckland before purchasing it and amazingly they were very complimentary of the car. Apparently they do not normally inspect imports from other dealers.
There are a couple of issues I am trying to work through that maybe some of the other NZ members may have already gone through.
1. Sat Nav - At this stage my understanding is there is nothing I can do to upgrade the Sat Nav even if I have the NZ map DVD unless I first replace the DVD player in the boot with a European one and swap out the Japanese one.
Is anyone able to confirm this?
2. TV - The XF has both analog and digital options so I thought tuning into one of New Zealand's digital channels would be easy however I am having no luck. Is this because Japan have different digital receivers than we use in NZ. Again I would love to know more about how I can sort this out if anyone out there knows.
Lastly, does anyone know if the Jag Club in Auckland still does a show every year at Alexandra park? I seem to re-call it always being around Easter time but could be completely wrong.
Thanks Guys

Hi Gaza
I am in the same situation and have found this link
It states:
First you need to load a Western Europe disc, preferably 2010, this will update the software from the JP version.
Then load up the AUS-NZ disc, and it should work. If you have JaguarVoice then it'll still be in Japanese
Havent tried but may just give it a go.
Wonder if you can use the disc from another post 2010 UK import Jag to do the initial part then the AU/NZ disc to convert if so shold only cost about $250
