Default Electric Cars

I found this article on Popular Mechanics earlier and found it kind of amusing.

It talks about Jay Leno's electric cars and how they haven't changed much in a hundred years (not a typo).

Actually, the only real change in electric cars apart from styling is regards the battery. It was always either lead-acid or NIFE. Now we have lithium-ion batteries, light enough, but very heavy on the bank account. There are exotic power sources of course like the hydrogen fuel cell, but we're stuck with the I.C. engine for a while yet. If anyone DOES come up with a cheap and practical power source, look out Sheiks!
Leedsman.
p.s. Electric motors are by far and away the ideal method to propell a vehicle. They pull hard from ZERO rpm., make NO noise, emit NOTHING, don't need clutches or gearboxes, and have ONE moving part, the rotor/armature. But where do you get the electricity? Aye, that's the rub methinks.

Leedsman has a good point , remember Top Gear Tesla test drive by Jeremy Clarkson , you really need a colossal power station to obtain a electricty and still need quite a few hours to charge it properly
