Ok, anyone know anything about the brakes on a 2018 Audi Q7? I have searched the WHOLE world wide web and get several reasons of why the brakes squeak while backing up. I am going to start by adding some disc brake anti-rattle clips (they only have one in each caliper) because I read where they should have two clips in each caliper. Had it looked at by a local brake service mechanic and he and I both agreed the rotors and pads were in good shape. They have ceramic pads, which could have something to do with the squeaking. If I could fix this problem, I would have a free "get out of the doghouse" card and would add you to my Christmas list

 

Is the squealing present while backing up without touching the brake or only while braking?

 

Did you check for any debris between the rotor and heat shield?

 

Thanks for the reply. It was only during backing up. Now it's every time the brake is applied. The front pad and rotors have been replace and was quiet for about two months. Now the squeaking is worse than ever. If I don't get this fix, my wife is going to want a new car HAHA!
