Retro-Modern or Modern Retro?
Over the years the 911 has held true to it's basic look, but even if you change some part(s) so minutely every generation that it still resembles the previous generation almost exactly, those changes add up. With that said, the current version of the 911 is immediately recognizable as a 911, but compared to the original(s) looks radically different.
I think the 911 and the tuners of the 911 (specifically RUF) have done the best homages to vehicles of past. What inspired me to post this was the recent RUF "creation"; the RUF Roadster and the Porsche Speedster.
The links are posted above so let's start a chat related to these two cars and anything else retro inspired. What are your thoughts on classic influences on modern cars? Which cars have done the best or the worst at it?
