Why do people driving Chrysler 300's think they're in a Bentley?
I've seen some cars go as ridiculous to put the Bentley mesh grill on the front, and put 'B' on the rims and lower body of the car, because real Bentley's have a 'B' on their rims.
And also, why is it always a black guy driving them? Or a white guy who thinks he's black?
I use to like the cars, but now I can't stand them!

I like the SRT's in stock trim.
When the 300 first came out, everyone thought it looked exactly like a bently. I thought they were very similiar, so aftermarket companies cashed in on those thoughts and made bently look alike grilles for them.
I really do hate the v6 300 with 22's and cheap tires.

For same reason people also buy a fake Rolex watch or wear a watch that's dead alike to Rolex or a famous brand
I also see no point of imitating others ,you may look like a Rolls Royce but feeling like a Rolls Royce is all a different league .
As for the Bentley grill, I ain't a fan of it at all . Each car should have make its own desing clue and concrete design clues, features associated with the brand itself that's why I do hate most jap or far east makes

In answer to the subject of the thread:
For the same reason that other drivers think they're driving a Jag...lol. I've seen some of the new cars (Hyundais? Others?) that look like they're trying to make the butt-end of their cars look like the XKs. And somewhere on these forums, someone mentioned seeing a Leaper on some other car. Disgraceful, ya ask me. If you want a Jag...get a freakin Jag and quit farting around.

Well then I guess I'm one of those people. But to the other extreme. I have a 1994 Mustang gt and have tried to decrease all of the extra badging these car companies think they have to put on their cars. But once I buy it its mine. The first thing to come off the car are all of the dealership advertising parafanilia.
Why is it that every freaking new car has to have either holes in the fender, grandpa's Buick, or a chrome, side vent, accent front fender thingy. Give it a purpose a function somethign other than the "lemming law" everyone else has it so we must have it to. Give me a stripped pony car and let me buy what I want. Imagine a modern Jaguar XK8 with a V8, 2 seats, doors windows and the minimum amount of required safety features. Let me add all of the **** that usually causes me headaches.
No heated seats, motorized seats, power locks, power windows, motorized steering column, automatic transmission, coil packs, ( I like plugs and wires.). you get my drift.
Heck you can't buy a new anything that doesn't have power assit something. Know wonder you have the terms, dumb fat and lazy.
We build cars for dumb fat and lazy riders.
If you want to drive a car these days and its new it has to have a manuel clutch. Otherwise your just along for the ride.
Man that felt good.
No offense fellow forum members!
(Yes I do have a Jag xk8 and I rarely drive it. Wifes car, automatic transmission)
I drive the following all with sticks, 94 Mustang gt, 03 Mini Cooper s,
89 toyota Celica, 06 Mazda 6, 04 Honda Element. Why ride when you can drive.

Nice post, daddyo!!
I agree with everything...except the auto tranny. I like not having to use my leg muscles while sittin in traffic...lol. However, it would be nice to change gears myself, pop a clutch a time or two at a light while sittin next to one of those rice-grinders that sound like a robot farting, etc. But, yea...I'll take my '76 Chevy 350 powered, gas-guzzling, 4 barrel carb having, distributor spinning XJ12 hot rod anyday. To heck with emissions...lol. (and yea...leather seats or as cold as a miner's kneecap in the winter)

daddyo007,
Supposedly the new XE two seater, or whatever it will be called, will have a manual transmission available. I would like to see a stripped down model pretty much like you described that is built to be a runner. Right now the only thing you can do is buy a restored XKE or one of the resto-mods that some of the specialty shops are turning out. They are fairly pricey though. Look up Eagle E-Types just for grins.
Since I live in the DC area, give me an automatic. I had a five-speed Mitsubishi commuter car with power nothing and I was shifting about every 10 seconds or so. Real PITA.

Pictures of various grill choices for the 300C at the bottom of the page here

Frankly I did not think Bentley with the 'Bentley' one, though others clearly do as I found loads of adds with 'Bentley grill' and 'baby Bentley' mentioned. Sorry, but to me that smacks of hanging onto the coat tails in desparation. Imagine announcing to a Bentley owner that you have a car that you think even remotely approaches theirs. The Rolls Royce one looks sad.

As far as ***** go...I have a "soft spot" for the real thing but when you get down to it so long as they belong to someone else and I can play with them its all good.
