Default Engine / Transmission compatability

I saw an SS100 replica for sale locally that had a GM (Chevy small block) drive train including an automatic transmission. From the look of the pan, it's a TH350. I seem to remember Jaguar using GM auto boxes for a while. What I am wondering is what Jaguar engine I could bolt up to the GM trans to make the car a bit more authentic?

You can use a 3.4L, 3.8L MK 1 and 2, 4.2 XJ6 1,2,3. The TH350 can be mounted to a Jag engine with interchange plate. The TH400 was used on V-12s. The original SS was a six cylinder like a MKV as it was not overhead cammed, but will need plate for tranny install. If you use the MK and XJ6 engines will be Hemi and dual cammed. Might check length of SBC to see if you have room for Jag 6. Or go modern with the X-Type V-6 and tranny. Also check height for hood/bonnet clearance.
