MK IV Petrol tank issues
I would check the various parts suppliers- particularly Jaguar Heritage site for parts diagrams and locations. I know that for myself, if I can see how thing is assembled ahead of time it makes the job a lot easier for me. That said, I have no experience with the mark iv but my 66 has drain plugs in its tanks. You probably know that much already, but an empty tank is a lot easier to wrestle out of any car. Also, you might try posting in the classic saloon section to get better response. Good luck.

hi Jerry, thanks for the reply, I thought I had put the question in Classic car section, I’m hopeless at these things. I have drained the tank, a number of times trying to get rid of the sludge etc. it looks like a huge job to take it out, and if you don’t complete it, it will remain like that for years 😂
