Saw this thing for sale yesterday, must be one rare car!

 

This is hardly a "replica" of anything, much less a 1957 XKSS as the German text claims (wait, was there a salesman wearing white shoes and a white leather belt standing nearby?). This is one of Banham's XJS conversions - the fixed head chopped off for a drop head install, plus bits of plastic bonded on top of sheetmetal. Maybe have been tasteful in 1980 (see the original XJS instrument panel), but today? Not so much. Not terribly rare - just "bing" it.

 

Nice improvement on the rear end treatment.

 

Poetic licence in German, now that is a rare find.

BTW Cambo, where were you, with all the UK plates knocking about, and where are all the pics of the other interesting models strewn around in the background?
