Default Bluebonnet season in Texas - now until the next 2-3 weeks?

Pictures from another road trip. Around this time of the year is wildflower season in Texas, but this year looks to be a very bad year - at least around Austin. I drove as far as Independence, almost halfway point btw Austin and Houston, and not much to be seen.

Here are some shots - all are post-processed with Photomatix. The shots do tend to get really noisy because of that.

Beef and bluebonnets, same meadow as above

Meadow near Old Baylor Park, Independence TX

Usually on the meadow above, there is only 10% green since it's blanketed by bluebonnets.

Texas guys - how does your respective area look like this year?

It's been too dry, the bluebonnets are not looking good. Nice pics, though - love the Independence area.
