Default Jim's very cool flashing light avatar - how??

I've often wondered how Jim (JimC64) created his very cool avatar of his car with the headlights flashing. Jim, willing to share your secret?

Somewhat related to photography, right????

Steve - that avatar looks like an animated gif. Gif is the name of a file type - stands for graphical interchange something ..... wiki it - too lazy to do that myself this morning ....

I created one a long time ago - sheesh - I had a website right before I came out of grad school - 1999 - (11 years ago!) - with a free software that I downloaded off CNET website. Here are the steps:

1. Collect or create images that you would like to show - for example: if you want to show an image of your car with lights off, then head lights on, then headlight and fog light on, then you need at least 3:
- one with lights off
- one with headlight on
- one with headlight and fog light on

2. With the software - sequence the images per the sequence that you like
3. Save as an 'animated gif'
4. Voila - you have the same type of picture that Jim has.

Great info. Thanks everyone. First I need to get some decent pics of my car. I just detailed it over the last week. So now I need to find a good setting and some good weather. I may also need to get a star filter for my camera to make the headlights look cool!

Just take a photo an add the flashing lights in later.. easy enough to do with most photo editing software.
