1999 XK8 Convertible - NorCal
I'm reposting this at a lower price ($11500). I still love this car, but I'm buying this car https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...984-xj6-44166/ from my neighbor. Just can't pass it up, and I can't have two.
I purchased this car with the intent of keeping it forever. Its condition when I went to see it just blew me away. After lurking on this site for a while prior to purchase I knew I either had to find a car that had the timing chain and tensioner update performed or plan to have that done myself. With this car, I immediately took it to the shop in my area with the best reputation with UK cars and had them perform the upper and lower chains and updated tensioners, along with the water distribution pipe and thermostat cover. Front engine mounts were also replaced at that time. A transmission service has also recently been performed.
The PO also took very good care of this car. Convertible top hydraulic hoses were replaced recently, so the dreaded header latch leak shouldn’t be an issue. Tires and brakes are quite new as well – I have receipts for all of these.
I’ve also replaced the plugs (very easy). I have a hard copy of the Carfax I ran when I bought the car which I’ll scan and share with a serious buyer. The only issue with the car is the normal wear on the driver’s seat. Other than that, mechanically, it should be trouble free for many years. The main reason I’m selling is I'm buying a 1984 XJ-6 with 40k.
Car cover included. $11500 OBO The car has 60k miles.
