Excuse my Jag newbee-ness but is this module required for a 04 XJ8 that was bluetooth 'ready' from the factory? My understanding is that our recently purchased XJ8 just needs some parts plugged in / added to make the bluetooth button in the nav system work.

 

In the ACM's fitting guide page 2, it states in vehicles without the cd changer, adding an ACM 'may' require programming the radio to recognize changer (ACM).

Anyone have experience with the situation of adding an ACM in a non-cd-changer vehicle? I don't know if it matters, but the car does have navigation.

Anyone want to lay odds on the probability of needing WDS/IDS programming for the radio to 'see' the ACM? I don't know if it matters, but the car does have navigation.

so far all the xj8's we have done have not needed programing

 

if you have a phone in place all you need is the bluetooth interface in place of the motorola v60 cradle

if you have no phone then you need to get the whole shenbang module bt module d2b harnes mic ect...hope that helps

 

Why do you say phone in place? I thought this BT system controls my current phone in my pocket via bluetooth. That's what my cadillac does. When I get in the car they automatically sync up.

 

the car was desighed prior to bluetooth some came with a regular phone in place

hey we talked a while back. Does the acm work with the iphone? If so, what works and what doesn't. I may have to give you a ring about an install once I get my car back from the shop(it's getting repainted).

 

is the ACM still available- I would like to purchase. Also do you have any of the bluetooth parts for an 05 XJ8 Vanden Plas
