Default Getting ride of my S-Type - 18" Monaco wheels

I replaced my S-Type with an XJ8. I have a set of BBS 18" Monaco wheels that need a new home. Oyster color.

I paid around $3500 for them when I got the S-Type. They are in very good shape.

I figured I would see if anyone here has an interest before I go the ebay route.

If you have an interest PM me.

Pics of car is actual wheels. Others are stock pics I found on internet.

Yes. I think that they are 8 inch widths. I had 245/40 Contis on them. Tires are gone though.

Damn those look just like the factory 17s they had on s type, maybe thats what you were going for though?

Welcome from a fellow tampa member though, check out the regionals south page for the upcoming Sebring 12 hours meet!

The BBS wheels have the same number of spokes so I guess they might appear the same at first glance.

The 17" factory wheel is a one piece cast that is powder coated silver and clear coated. Very plain looking. Brake dust adheres to the wheels more. Curb impacts pretty much ruin this type of wheel. Obviously no bolts on the OEM wheel. Visible air valve stem too. These look like you could not afford to get anything better and took what the factory churns out.

The 18" BBS wheel is a two piece type that is powder coated in a slightly gold tint with no clear coat. Looks silver in the bright light but the gold tint is noticable at night or evening. The quality of the paint is better too. Brake dust does not stick to it like it does on the OEM wheels. The chrome trim ring is replaceable if you hit a curb and rash/bend it. There is no visible air valve stem. These look like you spent some serious cash on them. If you want classy wheels that will make your S-Type look like a luxury car instead of a sports car then these will do the job.

Look at the two side by side and you will see the differences.

I do still have them. Been debating about putting them on my XJ8 in place of the 19's.

Those wheels are still $700 each if purchased new. I am thinking that for $1000 I could part with them. Otherwise I am better off keeping them for future use. I plan to list them on ebay for that amount. I won't list them until I get a chance to wash them and figure out how I would ship them if I needed to.

I decided to put the 18" wheels on my XJ and am very happy with the result. So the 19" wheels are officially for sale now. Listed in the classifieds section. Pics in my profile.
