My mistake is your gain.

I ordered a set of genuine AJ26 valve cover gaskets L and R, plus spark plug hole gaskets and all bolt grommets, as well as a set of 3rd generation secondary timing chain tensioners and new bolts.

Turns out that I have an AJ27 that already had the new tensioners fitted!

Asking $225 shipped anywhere in the lower 48.

Again, brand new, never test-fitted parts offered shipped for less than can be otherwise currently found in the US.

Perfect for another new owner or someone that may have put off the repair!

 

I should mention - entertaining best offer.

If there is no interest, I guess I can ship these back to the vendors.

Final bump before I ship these back - $200 takes them.

 

I am having trouble identifying my engine as AJ26 or AJ27. Engines in my VIN range are supposed to have "tensioner problems", according to a post herein. Mine was mfg 02/00. It does not have the fist sized vacuum can next to the throttle housing. Given this info, can someone advise me which I have? I want to make sure the timing chain catastrophe does not happen to me.

 

If you still have these, and my engine turns out to be AJ26, then I will be happy to take them off your hands.
