A bit closer to Sweden, Belgium/The Netherlands. Where in Sweden are you from?

Now and then I am getting the question if my kit would also fit a NA (Naturally Aspirated) XK8/XJ8, and I have to say that this is not possible unfortunately for many reasons.

In principle everything is possible pending the budget, but imho it is just not worth it, you will be talking many thousands (and I mean many) of dollars, and on top of that you will not even come close to the standard XKR/XJR levels of power as you need to be careful regarding the high compression (amongst others) . And even if you would, the gearbox might be too weak to hold the massive amount of extra torque.

There is a fellow member of this board called fishman, and he has done the journey of converting a XK8 to a XKR, with the standard parts from a XKR engine. Here is the link for more info, and in there you will also find a link to his home page with all the details:

Thanks, Glen

As many have requested a sound clip, I have made one quickly today with top down. It is in second gear, gentle start to full load. I still use the stock (restrictive) exhaust, so there isn't that much drama in exhaust note, but it gives an idea.

Hi Glen, I tried to send you a mail, but it seems it is disabled in your profile. Easiest to contact me is via the mail address I have listed in the first post.

Great news about the tax refund, but I am still behind on the STR twin-screw project, so don’t hold your breath there please.

Andre,

Still interested as well in the twin-screw for the XJR. Just wanted to confirm continued eagerness for this product!

Yes, the kit will fit also the 4.0 XJR's from 2000 until 2003, no problem.

Have made some small extra mods, which should give me again some more room to push it again further. Please note these are not needed once you have the TS kit, it will only complement the kit, and is actually only for the very few under us that wants to get out the most there is.

These latest additions are changes to the fuel system and re-grinded cams. The latter might also be beneficial to cars without the TS-Kit, but I can’t tell how much he benefit will be there. Lets first see what it could bring on my car.

The fuel system was for 2 reasons, for one I wanted to stay ahead of trouble as the old pumps had served me already for 300.000km, and secondly with the 3.5” MAF system, there is much more room for extra boost (via upper pulley change), but only when using higher octane fuel, so am curious to see how far I could go.

Am ready to do a dyno run within the next 2 weeks or so, and am curious to see what the camshafts have brought in extra power. There is no difference in drivability, also nothing to notice during idle, we have gone for the maximum lift for the system and modest duration increase, but not gone for extremes (car must retain its GT qualifications, so that’s the border for me).

Last but not least, have changed the gearbox oil to Mobil 134 (MB Spec 236.14, approved also for use in boxes that require 236.10, so our ones), and swapped 2 main solenoids for higher volume ones that provide a firmer shift. Was easy to do, so thought why not try, here is the thread with more info on the oil and solenoid mod:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x308-xj8-xjr-27/xjr-transmission-fluid-58651/

Almost forgot, I have also added a extra reservoir of about 5 liters in the intercooler circuit so have some extra buffer.

Haven't started yet making the intake (so the part between the SC and TB, thats all that is left), as this is a tough one to do. I have a design in my head though, only need to make that digital. But don’t hold your breath just yet, I need lots of time for doing this right, and I just don’t have that yet.

I am working now on an setup for the AJ26 engines though.
