I had the unfortunate incident of having my front tires chew up the front inner fender wells on my 2000 Jagaur S Type - I was fortunate enough to find a used pair - after installing, they were still loose up front.

After doing some research I stumbled across the part number for the retainers used to hold the front of the inner fender well to the front bumper. The teeth grip into the notch to the inner part of the front bumper and the innfer fender well bolts into it.

One is needed on each side and each side is different.

I found these on www.jagbits.com

XR811451 - Right Side
XR811452 - Left Side

They cost about $8.00 each but good insurance to ensure the front part of the inner fender well stays attached to the front bumper. I took a shot as jagbits didn't have a pic of the part.

I have attached pictures of the one I removed from the front bumper.

which picture is the old one the one on the left looks like the new one i have a 2001 with the same problem, hardware looks i took off the car looks like your picture on the right, on the 2001 teeth attach to a lip on the inner bumper xactly as tou discribed thanks for part nos jag parts had no idea whati was talking about sl3972@aol.com

 

sl3972 - both pics are of the same part - this was the used one I took off the inner bumper. I believe this was the one on the passenger side I was rigging to use on the driver's side inner well until the proper side I ordered arrived. Thanks...
