Motorcraft Platinum FS22's
Hello all,
Spark Plugs,
Looking to locate the Motorcraft Platinum AWSF FS22 for S-Type 2000.
Does anyone have a specific part number useful to a UK search and supply. It appears "AWSF FS22" only draws attention to across the pond.
Thanks,

OK,
Well i've just removed all 6 motorcraft platinums from our car.
Looking at images of of the NGK double you mentioned the thread appears to continue along entire shank, the Motorcrafts are short threaded.

Here you go off of www.rockauto.com website:

You could try www.advanceautoparts.com for the info you need. The 2000 Lincoln LS with 3.0V6 came with AGSF 32FSMF6 as far as I can see,0.679in reach full thread. These are fine sinle platinum, good for 100k miles.
Is it possible the previous owner put the wrong plugs in?

Those links are great thanks,
See image.
Thread is barely 0.4 inch - tapered neck must finish closure.
I wouldn't be surprised if previous owner purchased lawn-mower plugs. We could write a book about the fun we've had.
Is there a limit to length of thread before damage may occur?
Thanks,

The important measurement is from thr seat to the tip of the electrode--you don't want the plug and piston to come in contact. And anti-seize lubricant on the threads really helps.

2 things....
One, that plug Leonard_85 looks like toast! I have used NGK double platinum plugs since I've owned my Jag and have been very satisfied. I pulled out the original plugs (4.0 V8) at 100K miles and they looked better than the plug in the pic.
Two, I have heard six rotors to not use anti seize lubricant on the plugs on these cars... I don't know how true that is but have used it on every other vehicle I've owned. Just my $0.02

I just checked the JTIS and Jaguar specified AWSF22FS.They also specify the use of high temperature nickel anti seize lubricant for the threads.Funnily enough they do not specify anti seize lubricant for the 4.2V8 but they do for the 4.0V8!
I had been under the impression that the factory-installed Motorcraft AGSF22FSM spark plugs in our 2005 S-Type 3.0 were iridium-tipped. I learned today that they are NOT iridium-tipped, they are platinum-tipped. While they are relatively good plugs that Jaguar schedules for replacement at 100,000 miles, nothing comes close to the longevity and trouble-free operation of iridium plugs. So when I decide to replace these factory plugs (our S-Type is approaching 72,000 miles now), I'm going with NGK iridium plugs. That should mean that I'll never have to mess with the spark plugs in this car again....
JTIS - 4.0 V8 - Jaguar Part C2A 1535 (NGK - Double Platinum - PFR5G-13E)
Correct, all six have been well and truly spit-roasted.
I cleaned-out the threads today on the cyclinder block - there are no more than 5 complete turns tapped which explains the shorter threads, obviously all thread is not utilised on NGK etc...
Does the AWSF-FS22 code refer simply to Motorcraft or not...?

Yes, that's a Ford part number and it seems that that these plugs are now discontinued and superceded. I get all sorts of part numbers pop up as cross references. maybe ask at your local dealer what they use?
Yes, the shorter thread tells me they're very specific to that very engine block.
Another mystery tour then, discontinued - something tells me you know your food spares and might just know the new part number or have a catalogue collecting dust somewhere?
