Default Removing Trunk Badges

I was wondering how to remove my trunk badges. I want to debadge and add crystal lettering in its place. Just want to know what you guys think and the procedure in doing so. I heard all I need is a blow dryer and a good adhesive glue remover. But i want to make sure I dont have to deal with HOLES and BONDO.

Not sure if they have mounting pins, but here is a little trick I learned from doing it to other cars. Get some strong NYLON fishing line. Run it like dental floss behind the badge. Remove. Rub the left over foam from the adhisive strip with your finger. Wipe the glue off with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to wax that area right away. Should take all of 5 min. and no scratches or heat applied to the paint!

I know... but I can't tell you because I read what you were putting on there instead and I don't believe that belongs on a Jaguar.

Perfect...

I'm removing my S-Type emblem from the trunk but please don't give me a public answer for obvious reasons. However, I would appreciate an IM or email.

Meh...

Replacement badges are adhesive w/o pins so it is safe to assume that there aren't any.

Far be it for me to place judgement on what mods a user wants to do........

If you don't have fishing line use floss. Floss sucks because it doesn't have the strength like fishing line does. Make sure you have goo-b-gone to remove the left over double sided tape. If your going to put something else up make sure you clean the back end off of anything that is greasy (goo-b-gone is kind of greasy) so whatever your putting on stays put. Personally no badges are better looking on everything...

Thanks JOsworth and Aquill for your input. I was able to remove the emblems effortlessly. However I need that goo-b-gone to remove the adhesive! Such a pain!

And for whiteSTR, being from an "urban" environment I am doing what I see fit and
appealing.

And "crystal letters" are found on S Class Benzes and 7 Series BMWs.
Hence a Jaguar will be a great candidate.

Half the Exhausts clips on this forum are terrible and very ricey. THOSE are what I BELIEVE don't BELONG on a Jaguar.

Who cares it's your car. My preference is nothing looks better.

Now if you go off like this, I consider that wrong!

Well said all. And my preference is keep it looking mild and only modify for gained performance. Hence, I put drilled and slotted rotors on with performance pads but didn't paint the calipers. Also, If you don't have "Goo-Gone" lying around, alcohol works as well.
