The $79 part worries me a bit lol but has anyone else had any experience with buying grills off of ebay and installing them? It mentions cutting the existing plastic bars? What plastic bars are they referring too lol?

The plastic bars are the vertical bars in your existing grille. You reuse the frame to support the mesh and cut out the center portion.
I'm sure there are pictures on the forum somewhere.

 

I did this upgrade recently. I bought a wire/mesh grille in stainless from an Ebay seller. Job took about an hour. Took grille out, took screws out of trim bezel on back of grille. Cut vertical plastic bars from trim bezel with jig saw starting at the top then flipping over to do the bottom. Get bars cut flush as you can without cutting trim bezel. Center mesh grille between trim bezel and front chrome ring. Put back together making note of proper position of mesh piece. Just take your time and it will look great. I also put a couple of dabs of clear silicone at several spots around the edge to be sure of no movement or rattle. One other thing, when trim bezel is cut and prior to reassembly, you will want to grab can of black satin paint and spray it to dress it out so that no cut ends show through the front . Total of 4 bolts holding grille and I think 8 screws on back of trim bezel.
