I have an 2001 S type 4.0 . Car has been sitting in the garage for the last 7 months because of transmission problems. I would go and start it every couple weeks and let it run for a bit. Today I was going to take it to the transmission shop and have it fixed, or so I thought. When I started it up, it sounded like it was coming apart, knocking, missing, would hardly run. I immediatly turned it off. it has 98,000 miles, I got it when it had 72,000 and I have never done anything to the cam tensioners. Could this be the problem? Extremly disgusted to say the least! Thanks for any help!
