When I bought my car several years ago it had aftermarket 16" chrome wheels. I am now wanting to which to 17" OEMs. Many of the 17x7.5 wheels that I am looking at say that they will only fit 00 through 03 VIN 73193. My VIN is after that point. Is there any reason why these wheels won't fit my car? I did do a search through the forum, but did not find anything.

The offset on the 17" wheels is 60mm, and I didn't if this was changed after VIN 73193. My other guess is that this is advertised to ensure that folks don't try to fit these on an STR.

You need to use the last 6 of the VIN i.e. incl. the letter.

 

Im guessing you have the 4.2 sport? If so, I have a set of 6 OEM wheels that I may be looking to sell in the near future, they are as you noted 17 X 7.5:

The VIN for the cut off is M73193 and mine is M84734. Does this really matter or will the 00-03 wheels fit?

 

They may not fit. One of the techs may know.

Generally people saying things only work for certain VIN ranges have already checked since they don't want hassle from buyers.

Your thoughts on the reason being to do with the STR are wrong because they're way too narrow (and VIN cut off would be M45255 or one of the Nxxxxx instead).
