After searching for new brake pads for my car and getting multiple part numbers listed as proper fitment for an '06 STR, I finally decided to email Akebono direct.

Here is there response:

Your application takes the D1240 for the front. We do not offer a D1240. This is due to low volume. The rear takes the EUR1095. It is available. Thank you for using Akebono pads.

Any suggestions on the next best brand to go with?? I was really looking forward to minimal brake dust ! Damn, just my luck.

Thanks MyBlackCat, I did see your post and was confused as several vendors specifically listed the pads for '06 - '08 STR's. I wanted to play it safe before ordering anything.

 

I go with EBC Redstuff pads, they are better anyway. But they are $150/set for fronts

 

No problem, I was just trying to save you the time and energy since I did this exercise before. The 06-08 guys need all the help we can get.

The Centrics are great pads, stop great, very little dust and very cheap to boot,
its a win,win,win in my books and wallet..

I don't think the EBC were available either, (when I did my brakes)

 

Thanks for posting that. The number of 2006-2008 STR's is very small and we don't have much information about them.
