2000 S Type HVAC - Servo Motor Issue(s)
Hi everyone,
The other day I was driving and all was well. I hit the defroster button on the HVAC panel and when I hit the selector back to auto - hardly any air was coming out of the vents. Hit the button for upper vents - no change.
It sounded as though all the air was being forced through the floor vents. Selected defrost and air diverted to the front defroster vents.
I hooked up my scanner and ran a "on demand" test.
The codes that came up were:
B1242 - Recirculation Door Actuator Circuit Malfunction
B1264 - Floor Door Actuator Circuit Malfunction
When I turned the unit back on to "auto" - air was coming out of the upper vents - setting was 65 degrees.
Today - On "auto" setting - I raised the temperature to 79 degrees for a bit - when I lowered the temp back to 65 - same deal - air was being forcefully diverted to all the floor vents.
Hooked up the scanner again - I have the same 2 codes as above but now a third:
B1263 - Panel Door Actuator Circuit Malfunction.
The B1242 code is intermittent (didn't flag today)
Turned the HVAC back on and still - all air being diverted to the floor vents.
My questions are: (I did search the forum and JTIS to no avail)
1) Could the B1263 and B1264 be related to the same servo motor (floor/vent servo motor)
2) If not - which servo motors do I need to look at? (I know 3 motors are accessible w/o dismantling the dashboard)
3) Could the CCM be causing these issues? (I don't believe so but I thought I would ask anyway)
I can hear the servo motors moving - definite clicking towards the glove box - any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys - I was able to get the air directed to the dash vents - just in time for this week's heatwave...
I am going to leave well enough alone for this week - I am going to check the obvious - connections/unobstructed levers/bars, etc at the 3 servo motors I can get to - starting with the servo motor under the driver's footwell, then the re-circ servo.
I will track my progress and report back with my findings...

So how was the final solution?
