The transmission linkage is known to come lose. I don't know about the dash lights

Hiya, and welcome to the forum.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the exact problem. We don't charge for punctuation, so it's okay to end one sentence and then start another.

When you say the engines cranks okay in neutral, does it then start as normal? Or do you have two issues: No response in P, and then cranks but still won't start in N? Big difference, so these details are very important.

On the base of the shift lever, does the red P illuminate when the lever is in park?
