Default 2000 S-Type Throttle Position Sensor

First time Jag owner needing help. My wife got her 2000 S-Type from her brother. We have had it for two weeks and have our first issue. While driving to work today the failsafe engine mode came on and went into limp mode. She in fact limped it home and now I am suppose to fix the problem. However, I don't have near the information that ya'll do and could use a DIYer help.

I bought a code reader today and low and behold, it worked. It came up with two codes actually but I think only one that is causing limp mode.

P0455 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (gross leak/no flow)
P1576 - Pedal Position not Available

I have my thoughts but I sure could use some advice from other DIYers out there.

Thank You
Jeff

Default Going to give it a try

Brutus, Thanks for the info, I will give that a shot and see how it works. I appreciate all the help form the intro page but trying to obey site rules by posting in correct area.

Seems as though this site is mandatory for Jag owners who want to take care of problems on their own.

Jeff

you might also want to at least check the she didnt kick or knock the electrical connector slightly loose from the gas pedal before you order a part
