Default 2001 Jaguar Stype 4.0 ABS Module Replacement

I have a 2001 Jag S-type 4.0 with the sports package (stability control). The ABS module has went bad. I have a replacement module in hand from another 2001 Jag S-type 4.0 with stability control. What is the procedure for replacing the module??? Can I just replace the module or does the whole assembly have to be replaced? Since its from another similar jag, will the module be required to be reprogrammed??? Any insight is appreciated.

If the part number is the same you should be ok since you removed from a S Type with similar options. Check the part number.

You can remove the module w/o removing the entire unit opening up the brake lines. It'll require some finesse but is doable. I did it on my 00 S Type 4.0 - if I recall you'll need to loosen the bracket(s) holding the unit in place so you have "flex" but don't over do it.

Good Luck

Hi. I also have the exact same model and I’m in need of a replacement ABS module. The problem is that the part number on my current modulator is worn away which is making sourcing a replacement very difficult.

I wonder if you would be kind enough to let me know the part number for your original or replacement module? I’d appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks in advance.

Dave
