I've searched all over this forum and all the instructions to reset the sunroof seem to be for 2002 and newer cars. I've got a 2001. I tied all the instructions I did find to no avail.

My switch has 3 positions. If you press forward and the roof is closed it does nothing, not matter how long you hold it. It seems pushing forward is the closed position. Then you can press UP on the button and that operates the tilt. Then if you slide it backwards that's supposed to open the sunroof manually. If you slide the switch backwards quickly and release that's supposed to open the sunroof automatically.

Can someone direct me to resetting the sunroof on my 2001? Thanks.

 

Your Moon Roof is no different than the 2002 model.

Weird then, cause following the instructions and holding the button in the closed position the sun roof does nothing. No matter how long I hold it. I'll keep searching.

 

You may have a switch or motor problem?

Have you removed the roof console to use your DVM to check what voltage you are getting?

check relay or fuse associated with the sunroof.

I guess I left a post that was ambiguous at best.

My sun roof works, sort of.

Press up on the button and tilt works fine. Slide back and the roof tilts back to position and starts to open, but only a little, if I keep moving the switch back it opens a little more, until finally open.

Seems as though maybe a bad switch.
