Its insdie the aluminum housing on the front of the drivers side of the engine just up the road from the lower radiator outlet inline of the lower hose assembly. The easiest way to change is remove the air filter box and inlet piping to throttle body. Then after youve drain the coolant(or youll make a big mess) undo the clamp on the bottom of the t stat housing and the hose that goes over to the water pump. Then pull the housing to you so its upside down and take out the 2 8mm bolts. Swap out the t stat with the new one and make sure you put it in the correct direction. Reassemble and refill cooling system with 50/50 water anitfreeze. SORRY NO PICS

Is there a foto to show the correct position? It looks as if it is mounted in the housing in a wrongwayup? What is the direction of flow: from top hose radiator to bottom hose radiator? And how does the thermo fits in the circuit: opening at say 92 degrees centigrade allowing the hot water from the top of the engine to flow into the radiator? Diagram please

Follow the procedure in the JTIS Workshop Manual, which is a free download on this forum.
The thermostat is mounted in a housing in the centre of the hose with three 8mm bolts holding the housing together. When the housing is disassembled, reinstall the new thermostat in the same direction as the one currently in place. Put a small amount of anti-seize compound on the bolt threads during reassembly.
Refill the system with coolant meeting Jaguar specification.
