Good day everyone.

I am coming to you all for some advise. About two months ago, my engine light was on and I got the code for catalytic converter driver side. It was replace and the codes were reset. Now my engine light is on again and I have the codes for catalytic converters for both the driver and passenger side. Does anyone know why I would be getting these codes and what I should do please and thank you? I want to take care of this before the warranty runs out on new converter that I recently had installed.

I typed the wrong year above. It is a 2000 S-Type 3.0 6 cylinder. The codes are P0420 and P0430

 

I think I'd start with checking fuel trims in case you're burning out cats.

 

I would also get to O'Reilly Auto parts or something like that and get some catalytic coverter cleaner in your tank. The stuff works and will clean up the sensors and converters. Just follow directions.

I'd strongly suggest changing both upstream O2 sensors but making sure you keep the OLD downstream sensors. The reasoning is explained in the link above.

Use name-brand direct fit sensors. Stay away from the universal fit versions that require splicing the wires. I used Bosch 15716:

That makes sense, and I did that on a Chevrolet. I would still run the cleaner first. That gets rid of a lot of build up and then your new sensors will just make it better.
