It seems whenever I try to accelerate at low throttle (barely pushing the gas in to speed up like 4mph) my car makes kind of a grr sound and hesitates. Sometimes when I have cruise control on and am going around 40 mph it also sometimes lurches forward and accelerates then slows down and does it again which is mostly noticeable driving up this slight hill coming home from work. Any ideas what might be causing this?

 

Did you read the TSBs (service bulletins)? See the forum stickies, especially on transmission issues, if not.

Also, could it be misfiring? You'd usually get a flashing MIL/CEL if so.

 

How many miles on the car? If you've never had a fuel injector/induction cleaning, your car may be exhibiting signs that it needs one....
