Features: power everything, sunroof, navigation, xenon headlamps, 18 inch wheels, Brembo brakes, 390 horsepower supercharged V8, insanely fast, insanely luxurious"

the car is a steal but that doesent mean repairs aren't expensive at 63k miles hopefully all the problems have been worked out, youre right greg561 i wanted to get a 03/04 cobra when i sold my 03v8 but its actually more expensive then s-type r and it doesent have a luxury interior or massive brembos (:

Cool

...you are a couple of weeks late as TexasCarsDirect had an 03 STR in green with 44k that was mint they sold for the same price. Wait and keep lookin' at their inventory until they have a lower mile unit for the same price. The mileage is too high on the one you are looking at.

I really want the car, it's just the repairs that are scaring me cause of reliability, how does repair, as well as reliability cost differ from say a BMW?

Some people may disagree, but the costs between say an S type R and a M5 (comparable vehicles) will be about the same. Heck they both use the very expensive ZF Trans. My cousins back in Jersey both drive BMW's. They are good cars but cost a lot to keep mint. While a STR might be cheaper than a Cobra mustang, remember that it will cost more to keep up. That is one of reasons for the price of entry. Jags are no more expensive to maintain than the other premium cars out there. But, premeium cars are not Honda's therefore they cost much more than a basic car to take care of. If the thought of taking care of a premium car scares you I not reccomend you get it. It may very well end up frustrating you and become a really bad experience.

I'm starting to learn the Jaguars are very high maintenance cars. I just purchased a extended warranty and I'm sure I will put it in good use in the future. The Jags do drive great and the look is timeless. I say scoop it up and purchase an extended warranty. 11k is a steal. Warranty up to 100k miles can be around 3k

You can purchase an extended warranty on an older model car like that?

And which years should be avoided for an S-type R

2003 S Type R is the most trouble. I have a 2005 S Type R and it is a very reliable car. Jaguar really got things going their way from 2005 and up!! I would look for a 2005-2008 model if possible.
