Default 2003 S-Type

I went to start the car and got a puff of smoke from the lower instrument cluster and now have no power to the cluster when I turn the key. First thought was the ignition switch,no luck. All fuses are good..... I'm stumped and I work on cars for a living.....

I don't believe it's rodent related. I drove the car half hour earlier with no problem.

You need it apart, regardless. Do you really work on cars for a living? Doing what?

Just looking for pointers since I don't work on Jaguars too often. Mainly domestic and trucks are what I repair here. Electrical is not my favorite part of any vehicle nowadays. It's just bad since it's my car. Mechanics cars are the last ones to get fixed.
