2003 s-type 3.0L codes p0340, p0341, p1549
codes p0340, p0341, these appear for the cam sensor on bank1. do you have to take the valve cover off to get this out? i saw i pic of the location and what is sticking out of the valve cover looks nothing like the cam sensor the parts store gave me. is the thing sticking out of the valve cover the actual sensor? or is it actually under the valve cover? if bank1 is under the passenger side then do you have to take the intake off to get to all of that?
as for p1549, intake manifold temp valve? is that right and where is it at?
the car runs fine. it does seem to crank longer than it should while starting which seems to be a cam sensor symptom.
any help would be greatly appreciated and if i do have to tear all that appart i will post pics of the process. thanks

This is a very old thread.
Provide some vehicle information such as MY, engine size and number of kilometres/miles along with conditions and symptoms.
The very first place to start is with the battery. What is the age and condition of the battery? A failing or weak battery can cause random DTCs to be set.

With the ignition in the OFF position for at least ten minutes, the voltage across the battery terminals should be a minimum of 12.6 volts. If not, it should be replaced.
Does the engine spin slowly when you attempt to start the car?
You should also check wiring loom and all connections to make sure there are no open circuits. Make sure the connectors are fully seated at the sensors.
