Need to replace my AC compressor on my 03 R Model. Do I need any special tools, for removing the belt, and do I have to raise the engine to get to the compressor bolts out as the online site my mechanic found said?

I haven't done a Jaguar one before, but there are some specialty tools needed for pulling the lines off. From what I have seen, it seems to be easier to get to it from the bottom.

 

I think you are wrong Michael, the lines are connected with a one bolt manifold, nothing special about the belt removal either.
I've no experience with the V8 but others have said the engine does need raising, maybe someone can confirm?

 

Start by getting JTIS - free download - and seeing what it says. But... why are you so sure it needs replacing?
