2003 S-Type radiator replacement
Hello everyone! Richie here, and I am new to this forum. I've had great luck with just reading posts here and getting the info that I need. However, I can't seem to find the answer to my question that I have, which is: can I remove my radiator on my 2003 s type 3.0 V6 without having to use jack stands. I received this car after my father passed away about a year ago. So I really want to keep it but the cost of repairs is killing me. If I can do it myself than I will. I also have a few other problems. Here are the codes I pulled with an OBD 2 code reader I borrowed from AutoZone:
1: P0301 cylinder 1 misfire
2: P1313 misfire exceeds catalyst damage fault bank 1
3: P1316 misfire exceeds emissions
4: P0128 coolant thermostat below reg. temp.
5: P1642 can link circuit
6: P1111 system pass
I believe the first code I will just need to replace the coil pack and spark plug (I hope) and hoping it will clear the 2nd and 3rd code
I'm pretty sure I need a new thermostat which is $15 at AutoZone and seems to be a pretty easy fix.
I am not a mechanic by any means but I have my neighbor who seems to be pretty handy when it comes to cars so I will have his help.
I'm looking forward to the feedback from you all here!
I have to get this car running ASAP my wife and I are expecting in less than 2 weeks!!!!!!!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!!

I've moved your question from X-Type to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

i won't be of any help with your can bus issue !
but i did change my radiator last weekend on my STR and i can confirm the 03 - to end of production s type's all models as well as 04-09 xj"s all share the exact same radiator . except for the manual versions without the heat exchanger.
and yes it is removed from the top . fairly strait forward procedure.
i had to bend the a/c pipe a little to remove it though then bent it back . to get it around the bottom radiator hose inlet . to avoid de gassing the a/c.
there are two small bolts holding the a/c condenser/radiator to the front of the radiator remove those first to give you some wriggle room around the a/c pipe . the rest is quite easy
