Default 2004 S-type 2.5L Won’t Start (possibly fuel issue)

I have a weird issue and I’m just seeing if anyone had something similar happen. Let me preface with I have not add any issues starting the car prior to this.
I replaced the VVT solenoid (left/driver side), bought new gaskets since I knew I would be taking the valve cover off, and put everything back. After getting everything installed, I went to start the car and it cranks but won’t turn over. I am not hearing the fuel pump charge so I am thinking it has something to do with that, but what are the chances it just went bad in the 2-3 hours I was doing this job. I did jack the car at one point because I dropped my wrench and had to get it from underneath. I dropped the car a little fast, faster than I normally do so maybe it jarred something lose? But it isn’t like it just collapsed, just dropped quickly.

I have a 2004 S-type 2.5L V6 EU spec

Thanks in advance.

If it isn't priming and there is an electrical signal to the pump, the pump could well be dead. At some point they just stop working and it isn't uncommon on these cars.
My 2000 3.0 was fine one day and a while later, when I went to drive it, it was dead. No priming, no fuel pressure. New pump and all was well again.
See here on the "other forum" for my fix: https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/...ost_id=1368875

Thank you. It was just weird. I was thinking I jacked something up, but there was not a lot to disconnect. So other than completely taking the valve cover off all over again, I disconnected everything, including the connector on the CKPS.

I measured voltage on the connector at the pump. I was getting 10.5v at one wire and 11.0v on another

The other test from the Technical Guide is:

1. Switch the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Measure the resistance between the fuel pump electrical connector FP4 pin 3, (BR) and ground.
If the resistance is less than 0.5 Ohms install a new pump.

I'm sure you will get it fixed

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those voltage readings may not mean much, if anything at all. For anything electrical to operate, be it a light bulb, automatic avocado slicer, or pump, you need to see a voltage differential, i.e. power on one side and a ground on the other. If you're reading the two wires connected to the pump, you're seeing voltage on both sides. You've only got 0.5v differential, basically nothing.

Furthermore, most digital meters can be too sensitive when reading voltage in an unloaded circuit. You may be reading stray voltage that disappears with the circuit under load.

If you've already got a new pump in hand, it wouldn't hurt to try it, but a little more troubleshooting may be in order.
