2000 S-Type will not start

Good evening, and I am very happy to have signed up for this awesome forum for Jaguar enthusiasts.
I have a 2000 S-Type R V6 that has been garage-kept since 2009. I have read several postings about the S-Type not starting, and have found a great wealth of information on here.
My question is, when I try to start the car up, the red PATS light stays solid red, and then goes out. I was wondering what this means(if its the PATS preventing the car from starting up).
Thank you for your help my friends!

Welcome.
Going out is normal, if it's after the solid (self test). If the car won't start then at least it's not a PATS fault
BTW, there is NO V6 type R. You have one of a V6, a V8 NA or an R (aka STR aka V8 SC).
NA=naturally/normally aspirated
SC=supercharged

bwjaguar, give us some more info. prior to not starting and during the no start....carachterisitics, etc. In the mean time check all fuses, etc. including fuel pump re-set. Does she turn over? Does she have fuel enough fuel in the tank? Fuel rail may be empty. Check battery. It may have a weak cell so not able to properly energize coils.
