Default 2004 S Type 4.2L - Looking for USB port to install in dash console

Hello,
I have a 2004 Jaguar S Type 4.2L & I'm looking for a USB kit that my car guy can install in the dashboard/console area so I can plug my iPod in & have it play through the stereo speakers. I know most people get an auxiliary port installed for this purpose, but I'm hoping to find a USB outlet that can be installed because I've read on other types of car forums that the USB outlet provides much better sound quality than an auxiliary outlet. Does anyone know where I can purchase this? Thank You!

The ACM provides one I think (check previous threads).

For factory stuff use the ACM. This gets you USB, RCA and IPOD connections. It installs inside the center console.

You need to understand the Jaguar sound system first. It's run off an fiber optic network. So any input to this net work has the same sound qualities. The great thing about the fiber optic is is resistance to noise and interference. It's a very clean and quiet system. Of course it can always sound worse if you have poor source material.

The ACM is way over priced for what you get from Jaguar and they are a bit hard to find now. But if you could find one it might be the best way to go.

If you don't have navigation you have more options and people have installed very nice double DIN units in the dash with way more technology than our old and out of date factory Jaguar equipment.

How much do you want to spend?

Thank you for the responses! I do not have navigation & I'm not sure what I want to spend..I guess it depends on the pros & cons of each option & whether one option is far superior to the other. I don't know anything about the various options, other than what I learned in your responses, so any info or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Well if it was me I would go aftermarket and add the back up cam, maybe a dash cam, full DVD video, A real navigation system, sat radio, HD radio, USB, IPOD, BT, Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot and on and on. The prices just keep falling and the features just get better.
