Starts/runs fine then stumbles/stalls after 2-3 minutes
Just bought an 04 X-type with intermittent starting issue. Will start up perfectly, run for 2-3 minutes fine and then die, and set check engine light. Codes p0351/p0352/p0354/p0356 and p1367/p1368. Then it started right up and I drove the car for 15 miles and it ran perfectly. Next cold start repeated the same stalling and reset codes. Now it will start fine, run its 2-3 minutes, stall and won't start. if you let it sit a few hours it will start fine. Coil packs/ spark plugs were replaced at both 67k miles and 79k miles and car currently has 82k miles. Crankshaft position sensor was replaced at 67k miles. Ecu has just been sent out, tested and checks out fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Phil

Phil,
It seems you have the power side of the ignition system checked, I would next check and clean the grounds.
I would change the fuel filter also check fuel pressure. Fuel pump going out is also a common problem.
A less than optimal battery is known to cause gremlins in these cars.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

Coils last pretty much forever and plugs 100,000 miles.

The previous owner had the coil packs/ spark plugs changed at 67k and 78k miles by independent repair shops. Both invoices state problem was check engine light/ stalling. I too am doubtful you would have 12 bad coil packs/spark plugs in 11k miles. Again when it runs it runs perfectly smooth then it initially would just stop like it had no fuel. Now when it stops it starts to misfire ( setting the p0351/2/4/6 codes) and then stalls. Sounds like this has been an ongoing long term problem.
