Default 2004 S-Type R nothing happens when i press the pedal

whats going on forum, seldom poster but big time lurker. Need you help with this!
my car was rear ended 2 weeks ago, rear bumper had to be replaced. I went to finally pick it up from the body shop today & the owner advised me that the car starts, but will not accelerate. He started the car in front of me, all good, then he pressed the gas pedal and it didnt make a sound. I had the throttle body replaced about a year back & the car was running smoothly. There is not a warning light or message on the display. The shop said they were going to have someone come by next week and see if they can figure it out. Im depending on your expertises to lead them in the direction to get it back up and running. Please let me know if you have any ideas?

I would not let "someone come by". It's a highly complex car full of computers that may well assist in fault finding IF an expert jag tech is employed. Do not let anyone else near it as they may make things worse. Isn't this an insurance repair? Best to just have it done right

BTW, it likely is not the TB...

I believe the accelerator pedal is electronic - possibly a blown fuse or loose connector but as JagV8 already pointed out - make sure a Jag tech is deployed, not a "fly by night" mechanic or your asking for trouble...

Yes, car is drive by wire. It's not likely to be the pedal etc, either. Please just get a competent tech to work on the car. They can check all the sensors etc without screwing them all up or even disconnecting them.

Ditto! Let insurance company pay for a tech certified Jaguar mechanic. Anyone else tinkering may also void insurance company to pay for a certified Jag mechanic in the event they find out someone else messed with the car or worsened the issue(s). Keep this situation the responsibility of the insurance company.

Sorry for being the one to bring this up but what was your mileage before it went in the shop and what is it now? Was it driving OK before you took it in? If so I would be in the shop owners ***!!! It isn't far fetched that they may have damaged your vehicle on a joy ride or running over something.

ive been going to this shop for years, so I doubt they took the car on a joy ride. My jag mechanic who did my tb is located pretty far from the body shop. Anyone have any suggestions forwhat connection, fuse, etc.?
