Default 2004 STR DCCV replacement

Hello
Is there a consensus on whether to take the passenger side wheel and wheel well cover off to get to the DCCV valve?
Can someone tell me what the procedure is to take the quick release heater hoses off the car to get at the DCCV?
Finally, can someone tell me whether the Lincoln 3 outlet DCCV is a direct fit for my STR?
Thanks Fitz

Lincoln 3 valve DCCV is a direct fit. No access from the wheel wheel. Easiest is to go in from underneath / top. Drop the belly pan, skid plate. Loosen the 8mm bolt holding the dccv with a long extension. Push the quick release hose towards the pipe, you will feel the clip release and pull it off. Take the DCCV out of the bottom, with the metal hoses off, and disconnect them off the valve, and put them on the new valve. Feed the assembly back in. Connect the lines at the metal pipes, and then once everything is connected put the 8mm bolt back in.

Then, bleed it all.. and you should be good.

Take care,

George

Are any of the hoses connecting to the DCCV likely to need replacing?

Are any of them easy to remove completely (so that replacement would be an option)?

Those "quick release" things... any photos?

BTW, you can see the DCCV partly from the RH wheel well if you move the liner bottom part out of the way. Not sure it's any use beyond that.

Mine's leaking, I hope externally as the weather's a bit cold to try to fix it currently.

Here you go...

The two quick disconnects are on the bottom two metal pipes going to the heater core. Mine is a 3.0 so there's probably more room, but you can see them. One is marked on both sides with a green stripe. make sure you don't confuse the two at the valve. otherwise the passenger and driver temp settings will be reversed.

Mine leaked externally and had no issues with heat. The moment you experience any sort of heating issues, change or at least electrically disconnect it, to protect the ccm.
