My 2005 S-Type Sport 4.2 won't start after replacing battery. The p on the shifter isn't illuminated, and the alarm light turns solid red when I try to crank it. Also, if I wiggle the shifter, there is a beeping. I thought at first it was because my earth ground strap wasn't connected but noe. I am also replacing the radio and most of it is out of my dash. Please help guys. I can do most anything if I put my mind to it but this one is whooping my butt!

have you changed the dash, the dash is part of the imobiliser and car wont start unless it coded to the car
put the old dash back
