Replacing the radio, and it won't fit out with the shifter in the way, even after unscrewing the ***. I'm able to move it back about half an inch, and then I get met with a good amount of resistance, and certainly don't wanna break anything. Is there any thing I can do here?

Hook the battery up, move shifter, unhook battery. Just did this on the Subaru I'm working on with shiftlock.

 

Or look up old posts about being stuck in park.
