Default 2006 s type 3.0 Sport Mode

Good evening everyone!! Is it hard on the motor/tranny to leave it in this mode all the time? Also...does it use more fuel?
Thank you and have a wonderful Sat nite!

AFAIK, it simply raises the shift points of the transmission by a few hundred RPM at very most. Unless you're heavy on the the throttle it won't make much difference in driving.

It does a bit more than just raise the shift points. It also down shifts harder and earlier. It will also drop an additional gear on a hard acceleration pass. I move from S to normal from time to time. I find the car to be more responsive in stop and go traffic but switch out because it holds on to 5th gear way to long before dropping into 6th. That is even while cruising at 75..It just sits there humming along at over 3000 for too long in my opinion. But to answer the other part, no it won't hurt anything but MPG. The button just modifies the program that runs the trans. They would never build a set of instructions that would actually harm the drivetrain.

I didn't know that the 3.0 had a "sport" mode!
