2006 S-Type 4.2 V8, code P0301??? First time owner, don't know too much about cars
Turned car on the other day and it seemed as if the engine wasn't recieving power. I turned it off and on again and the check engine light came on.
I took it to a Pepboys and had the oil changed and the engine light checked but I think the guy tried to pull a fast one on me as I'm a female. He said the fuse was blown for the "reader"? I took it to autozone and the gentleman there had it checked in a minute and said the following things:
Code P0301, possibly cylinders 1,3,5 and a possible vacuum hose leak or a broken hose.
What to do now?

P0301 is a misfire on cylinder 1.
Cyl 1 is at the engine front right. (All directions in a car are on the basis of sitting in driver seat or standing behind the car looking at it.)
On the 4.2 it's usually a bad coil but often that's due to contamination so if you change it make sure to see what's in the spark plug well that has the coil in it.
Both cyl layout & codes are in this PDF https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...202%5B1%5D.pdf
