Default 2006 S-Type power steering problem

Hello everyone, I've owned 94 jaguar XJS convertible for more than 12 years, and recently purchased 2006 black S -Type Jag with 42,000 miles on in it, still under factory warranty.
One thing I've noticed right of the bat when driving the car is that the steering feels kind of soft and mushy, unlike all other cars I had in the past. Taking car to the Jaguar dealer didn't help, they claim that this is the way the car normally drives and other than suggesting the wheels alignment, that may help a little bit, didn't resolve the issue.
I've got a lot of helpful info from the reading the forum and maybe you guys able to suggest a solution and an explanation of this problem

It doesn't sound right but which engine and which wheels (size) and tires(tyres) (size & make)? How worn are they and are they evenly worn?

Ask the dealer to let you drive other S Types out of their used fleet. If none are available, check on sites like auto trader and go and "test drive" similar cars. This way you will be able to distinguish between what is considered normal and what is out of spec. Hopefully the dealer has used inventory. That way you can take the service manager with you and point out the issue.

Thanks for your replays, the car is standard s-type 3.0 with hankook vemtus v4es 235/50zr17 96w tires
Ties are worn out a bit on the inside and also need alignment, I was told by jaguar dealer.
I’ll try to get another s-type with different type of tires to take for a spin and see if steering feels differently than mine

Good choice Jagsx, last time I described my front end as being 'mushy' (to be honest, thats what first came to mind as a descriptive word) turned out to be lower control arm bushings used up, due to too much toe in (outside wear was a little excessive). That could very well be its problem.
